Reproduction on ceramics

If each original piece is hand-painted, Thomas Bertrand also wished to share his work in a more accessible form through traditional ceramic reproduction.
This technique uses chromos—motifs printed on a special paper, then applied by hand onto the glossy white glazed tile. The design is fixed through high-temperature firing, which makes it both durable and luminous.

In France, very few workshops still preserve this savoir-faire. It is in a workshop in the Oise (Kalco) that the reproductions linked to the artist’s work are produced: the representation of all the countries and territories of the world. These reproductions, always offered in gold, are presented mainly on ceramic tiles, but also on selected contemporary objects.

Each tile, sold at €45, embodies a unique balance: a fabrication faithful to traditional methods, yet conceived to remain accessible to all.
These reproductions extend a heritage craft of French culture while opening the way to a wider reach: everyone can find their country, their island, their origin — and claim a fragment of this universal cartography.

“We also offer collaborations and customization services for professionals (tourist offices, shops, museums, concept stores, hotels, companies, etc.), to highlight their territories and institutions through our Made in France creations.”
